  1. Why do you only use Angus breed cattle?
Angus cattle tend to marble very well, which is a hall mark of Alberta raised beef. Ranchers like to work with them because of their temperament and natural mothering capabilities. The best meat comes from this breed and much of the animals produced in our area are this breed.
  2. Who owns Wild Rose Beef?
Bouvry Export Calgary is where our beef is cut. Bouvry is a medium sized harvesting facility found in Fort MacLeod, Alberta. It is a family run operation with an increasing focus on maintaining the highest quality of beef, first and foremost.
  3. Do you use local Canadian cattle?
All of our cattle come from the surrounding area in both Alberta and Saskatchewan. We partner with local ranchers to ensure the highest level of animal care best practise is maintained.
  4. Do you have grass-fed cattle?
All of our cattle are raised on grass, but we find that for the very best eating quality we like to feed them a high ration grain diet just before harvest. This process is called “finishing” and it is responsible for the rich flavour that comes from marbling.

  6. What if you don’t have the cuts I am looking for?
We do a lot of customer cutting and we also have other cuts that sell internationally that may be available to you. Please use the "Contact Us" page and we will get right back to you on your enquiries.
  7. What does customizing cost and what is the minimum?
A lot is dependent on this enquiry and to ensure we are servicing you well, our sales staff would like to deal with you personally. Please use the "Contact Us" page and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
  8. No Added Hormones
These drugs get the growth we like and the efficiency by which they convert the feed they eat into meat. A “no added hormones” labeling claim is not required to be third-party verified. Because of our feeding regimen, no added hormones are needed to get this growth we like, so we just don’t use them at Wild Rose Angus Beef.
